Wednesday is the wetter day, with almost an inch and a half of rain, a high of 81°F (27°C) and wind at 15 mph. Thursday turns to showers with a high of 85°F (29°C).
With that much rain, arroyos and dips in the road can fill fast. Never drive or walk through moving water, and follow Protección Civil.
Tropics
Tropical Storm Vance is staying well away from Los Cabos. As of the 2 p.m. advisory, it had winds of 65 mph and sat about 575 miles south-southeast of Cabo, moving west at 6 mph.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the track shifted a little west again. Vance is expected to turn northwest Tuesday and north Wednesday, weakening, and NHC now expects it to fall apart before it reaches the coast of Mexico. Parts of western Mexico could still get heavy rain from the storm this week.
Surf and Spot Check
The ocean still has some energy. NOAA's wave model has tomorrow morning at about 5 ft at 11 seconds from the southeast, and dropping.
The Corridor shows the most, about 5.5 ft at Zippers and Old Man's. The East Cape and the Pacific side near Cerritos both sit around 4.5 ft. These are offshore model numbers, not what is breaking at the beach, so check your spot first.
Fishing
Water is at 88°F (31°C) and there is a full moon tomorrow night. The morning wind looks light, but keep an eye on the rain.
Peso check
A U.S. dollar buys about 18.6 pesos and a Canadian dollar about 13.3, both up a bit from last week. Those are market rates. Shops and exchange houses usually give less, so check first.
Baja 1000 on the roads
Pre-running for the SCORE Baja 1000 started this past Saturday, according to Mexico News Daily, and word is the trail is muddy. Race teams are scouting the Cabo to Cabo course up the East Cape and down the Pacific side. Drivers should take care and give them room.
The race itself starts and finishes on Avenida Centenario in San José del Cabo on November 13.
Qué Pasa Cabo
Día de Muertos Los Cabos starts this Saturday, October 31, on Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas and runs through Tuesday, November 3.
The WON Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot starts in nine days, on November 4, with weigh-ins on the Cabo San Lucas marina.
