Heavy rain heads for Los Cabos Tuesday, with Wednesday the wetter day

Rain arrives Tuesday and peaks Wednesday in Los Cabos, while Tropical Storm Vance stays well south and the swell eases.

Tonight's report

¡Buenas noches, Los Cabos! It's Lobo Los Cabos, live from the studio, and tonight's show is presented by Cabo Lifestyle Homes. Happy Monday, amigos, although on my rock a Monday looks a lot like a Saturday. Tonight, rain heads our way, so let's get into it.

First, the tropics. One storm out there, Vance, and it is staying well away from us.

As of the two o'clock advisory, Tropical Storm Vance has winds of sixty-five miles an hour, about five hundred seventy-five miles south-southeast of Cabo, moving west at six miles an hour.

What changed: NHC shifted the track a little west again. Vance turns northwest Tuesday and north Wednesday, weakening, and NHC now expects it to fall apart before it reaches the coast of Mexico.

Parts of western Mexico could still get heavy rain from Vance this week, so our neighbors over there, take care.

Here at home, the Baja one thousand is already showing up on our roads.

Mexico News Daily says pre-running started this past Saturday and we're hearing that it's a muddy trail out there. Race teams are scouting the Cabo to Cabo course up the East Cape and down the Pacific side, so drive carefully and give them room.

If a race truck flies by, wave, smile, and let it go. It's not your race, amigo.

Now, mañana. Even a sea lion likes a roof when it rains like this.

Tuesday brings heavy rain at times, about two tenths of an inch, with a high of eighty-five, a low of seventy-two, a light north-northeast wind at six, and warm water at eighty-eight.

Wednesday is the wetter day, almost an inch and a half of rain, a high of eighty-one and wind at fifteen. Thursday turns to showers with a high of eighty-five.

With that much rain, arroyos and dips in the road can fill fast. Never drive or walk through moving water, and follow Protección Civil. Cuidado, amigos.

Peso Check for today: a U.S. dollar buys about eighteen point six pesos, a Canadian dollar about thirteen point three, up a bit from last week. Shops and exchange houses usually give less, so check first.

Órale, surf time! The ocean still has some juice.

NOAA's wave model has tomorrow morning at about five feet, eleven seconds, out of the southeast, and dropping.

Spot Check: the Corridor shows the most, about five and a half feet at Zippers and Old Man's. The East Cape and the Pacific side near Cerritos both sit around four and a half.

Those are offshore model numbers, not what's breaking at the beach, so check your spot first. Now, for the fishing crew.

Water's at eighty-eight, there's a full moon tomorrow night, and the morning wind looks light, but keep an eye on that rain.

¿Qué pasa, Cabo? This part's brought to you by East Cape Concierge, setting up Baja off-road days from guided ATV tours to high-performance UTV adventures. Plan ahead and send your ideas to eastcapeconcierge.com.

Día de Muertos Los Cabos starts in five days, this Saturday, on Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas, and runs through Tuesday, November third.

And the WON Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot starts in nine days, with weigh-ins on the Cabo San Lucas marina.

Busy weeks ahead, amigos. Pace yourselves.
