Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot fishes Thursday under clear, dry skies

Quiet tropics, sunny weather through Saturday and a tuna tournament on the water as Baja 1000 week gets close in Los Cabos.

Tonight's report

¡Buenas noches, Los Cabos! It's Lobo, live from the studio, and tonight's show is presented by Sancho's. Clear skies, a tuna tournament on the water, and the Baja One Thousand is almost here. ¡Vámonos!

First, the tropics. As of NHC's ten o'clock outlook this morning, it's all quiet out there. No storms, nothing to watch. Órale, I'll take it.

Los Cabos weather is brought to you by Cabo Lifestyle Homes, powered by Ronival Real Estate. Buying in Mexico? Kirk and Cindy Iverson line up the notaries, escrow pros and inspectors for you. cabolifestylehomes.com.

Tonight, the sun sets at five thirty-nine. Clear skies, seventy-eight at six, down to seventy-one by midnight, with an overnight low of sixty-six.

Mañana, partly cloudy, eighty-seven for the high, sixty-six for the low, south-southwest wind around seventeen miles an hour, no rain, and water at eighty-eight. Friday eighty-four, Saturday eighty-six, both partly cloudy.

Dry, sunny and warm right through Saturday. Easy forecast tonight, amigos.

Peso Check. As of today, one U.S. dollar buys about eighteen point seven pesos, and one Canadian dollar about thirteen point four. Exchange booths and stores in town usually pay a little under that, so compare first.

Now the waves! Here's what NOAA's wave model shows for the morning.

Tomorrow morning, about four point eight feet out of the west-northwest at sixteen seconds, holding steady.

Spot Check. Pacific side, Cerritos, about four point nine feet. Corridor, Zippers and Old Man's, about four point three. East Cape, Punta Perfecta, La Fortuna and Nine Palms, about two point nine. The Pacific side shows the most.

Those are offshore model numbers, not what's breaking at the beach, so go look at your spot first. With a long period like that, sets can sneak up on you.

Fishing! My doctor told me to cut back on fish, so now I only eat it at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here's what the fleets say.

Gordo Banks Pangas' latest report says decent tuna at the Inner and Outer Gordo, mostly fifty to one hundred pounds, with a two hundred twenty-six pound yellowfin on Sunday. Wahoo are improving too.

Daliken Sportfishing, out of Puerto Los Cabos, reported Sunday yellowfin twenty to forty pounds, wahoo twenty to thirty, and sailfish numbers jumping.

Sailfish waking up, órale!

Out of Cabo San Lucas, Lands End Charters says one crew put three wahoo on the deck last Friday. Tomorrow night, a waning crescent moon, and the morning looks a little breezy with a moderate swell.

¿Qué pasa, Cabo? Here's what's going on around town.

This week out of the Cabo San Lucas marina, the Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot. Check-in was today, teams fish Thursday and Friday, weigh-ins on the marina three to six thirty, and the awards dinner Saturday at the cruise ship pier.

Up at Diamante, the PGA TOUR's first official round is tomorrow. And SCORE Baja One Thousand race week starts Monday in San José del Cabo, with the race itself on Friday, November thirteenth. Road closures still to be announced.

Big week, amigos. Good luck to all the tuna teams out there tomorrow.

Between weigh-ins, swing by Sancho's on the marina, between K and L Dock. Every NFL, college and MLB game, sound on, majority rules, plus the Eric Louis Trio this Friday. @sanchoscabo on Facebook and Instagram.
