Los Cabos tropics stay quiet as Tuna Jackpot opens Wednesday

No storms are brewing, big tuna are biting, and the Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot starts Wednesday with warm, mostly dry weather ahead.

Tonight's report

¡Buenas noches, Los Cabos! It's Lobo Los Cabos, live from the studio, and tonight's show is presented by True Tide AI. Tonight, the tropics are quiet, the tuna are big, and the Tuna Jackpot kicks off mañana.

Quick tropics check. As of the National Hurricane Center's ten AM outlook, no storms and nothing brewing out there. Órale, that's how we like it.

Okay, weather. I tried a standing desk once, amigos. Turns out sea lions don't really stand, so now it's a lying-down desk. Here's your evening.

Sunset is at five forty. Seventy-nine and cloudy at six, clearing to seventy-three by ten, then a few clouds back at midnight with seventy-one. Overnight low, sixty-eight.

Mañana, Wednesday, partly cloudy, a high of eighty-five and a low of sixty-seven, southeast wind around eleven miles an hour, and no rain in the forecast. Water's a warm eighty-eight.

Thursday climbs to eighty-seven with a breezier sixteen mile an hour wind, then Friday eighty-six and light. Pretty nice for November, amigos.

Peso Check, as of today. One U.S. dollar buys about eighteen point six pesos, and one Canadian dollar about thirteen point three. Exchange houses and shops in town usually pay a little less, so ask first.

Surf's next, and there's some long-period swell out there.

NOAA's wave model has four point nine feet at eighteen seconds out of the west-northwest tomorrow morning, holding steady.

Spot Check. Pacific side, Cerritos, four point nine feet at eighteen seconds, the most swell of the three. Corridor, Zippers and Old Man's, three point nine. East Cape, two point nine at nineteen seconds from the south-southwest.

These come from a model offshore, not the sand itself, so take a look at your spot before you paddle out.

Fishing time, and the tuna are showing up big.

Gordo Banks Pangas' report this week has tuna at the Inner and Outer Gordo, mostly fifty to one hundred pounds, plus a two hundred twenty-six pound yellowfin on Sunday. Water there, eighty-seven to eighty-eight.

Out of Cabo San Lucas, Lands End Charters' report from Sunday had striped marlin and sailfish on Monday, then one crew with three wahoo on Friday. Water at Cabo, eighty-five.

A tuna like that needs its own parking spot, amigos. Tomorrow night brings a waning crescent moon, and with a light breeze and a moderate swell, the morning looks fishable.

¿Qué pasa, Cabo? This part's from Sancho's on the marina, between K and L Dock, open from breakfast, every game on with the sound up. Find them at @sanchoscabo on Facebook and Instagram.

Día de Muertos wraps up today on Playa El Médano. And the WON Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot starts mañana with check-in, then fishing Thursday and Friday, with weigh-ins on the marina each afternoon.

Then the SCORE Baja One Thousand starts in six days, with the race start Friday, November thirteenth on Avenida Centenario in San José. Road closures aren't announced yet.

Big week on the water, bigger week on the road. Stay tuned, amigos.
