Read the story
Los Cabos tropics stay quiet as Día de Muertos wraps up in Cabo San Lucas
No storms are on the radar, the water is 88°F (31°C), and a building northwest swell, big tuna and race week are lining up for Los Cabos.
Tonight's report
¡Buenas noches, todos! It's Lobo Los Cabos, live from the studio, and tonight's show is presented by True Tide AI. I practiced my serious news face in the mirror today and scared myself. Good news, amigos, tonight I don't need it.
The tropics are quiet tonight. No storms, and nothing NHC is watching as of this morning's outlook. Órale, we like it like that.
So let's talk about the rest of your evening.
Sunset is at five forty. Eighty and cloudy at six, clearing to seventy-five by midnight, no rain, and a low of seventy-four overnight.
Mañana, partly cloudy, a high of eighty-four and a low of sixty-nine, a south-southeast breeze around eleven miles an hour, no rain, and the water at eighty-eight.
The ocean is warmer than my morning coffee, amigos.
Wednesday, eighty-six. Thursday, eighty-four with a lighter breeze. Partly cloudy all the way through.
Peso Check, as of today. One U.S. dollar buys about eighteen point seven pesos, one Canadian dollar about thirteen point four, and the Canadian dollar goes a little further than last week.
Quick tip, the cash booths and shops in town usually pay a little under that rate, so ask first before you trade.
Now, let's talk waves, amigos.
NOAA's wave model has the swell building, four point three feet at twenty-one seconds from the northwest tomorrow morning.
Spot Check. Pacific side by Cerritos, four point four feet. The Corridor, four feet. The East Cape shows the most, five point one feet, but a short six seconds.
Those are offshore model numbers out at sea, not the waves hitting the sand, so eyeball your break before you paddle out.
Fishing time, and the tuna are big right now.
Gordo Banks Pangas' report from Sunday says tuna at the Inner and Outer Gordo, mostly fifty to one hundred pounds, and a two hundred twenty-six pound yellowfin on Sunday.
Out of Cabo San Lucas, Lands End Charters had wahoo and dorado on Friday. Tomorrow night, a last quarter moon, and a fair morning with a light breeze and building swell.
Somebody tell that yellowfin it's welcome on the show any time.
¿Qué pasa, Cabo? This part of the show comes from Sancho's on the marina, between K and L Dock, where Sancho the dog says hola. @sanchoscabo on Facebook and Instagram.
Día de Muertos is on right now at Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas, through tomorrow. The Tuna Jackpot checks in Wednesday, with fishing Thursday and Friday.
Baja One Thousand week starts in seven days, and the race itself starts on Avenida Centenario in San José del Cabo on Friday the thirteenth, eleven days from tonight.
Get out there and enjoy it, amigos, the whole town is buzzing.
True Tide AI, built right here in Los Cabos, answers your business calls, texts and chats in seconds and books the appointment, even at midnight. truetideai.com.
