Trudy Fades South of Cabo, Black and Blue Is On, and Sunny Days Ahead in Los Cabos

Monday, October 19Watch on YouTube

Tonight's report

¡Buenas noches, Los Cabos! It's Lobo Los Cabos, live from the rock, and tonight's show is presented by Sancho's. It's Monday, amigos, which on the rock looks exactly like a Saturday on the rock. Tonight, Trudy is fading, Black and Blue is on, and the sun is cranking.

Let's start in the tropics, where Tropical Storm Trudy is running out of gas.

As of the two o'clock advisory, Trudy has winds of forty miles an hour. She's about one hundred sixty miles west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, roughly two hundred eighty miles south-southeast of us, and nearly stationary.

NHC expects Trudy to start moving northwest over the next twenty-four hours, keep weakening, and become post-tropical by tomorrow. Her swells along southwestern and west-central Mexico are subsiding.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect, and NHC isn't watching anything else out there in this morning's outlook. Nice and quiet. Now, around town.

Mexico News Daily reports pre-running for the SCORE Baja one thousand starts this Saturday, October twenty-fourth. Race teams will scout the nine hundred sixty-four mile Cabo to Cabo course, up the East Cape and back down the Pacific side.

So expect race vehicles on dirt roads and highways along the route. Drive carefully and give them room. The race itself starts and finishes on Avenida Centenario in San José, November thirteenth.

Mañana's weather is brought to you by Cabo Lifestyle Homes, powered by Ronival Real Estate. Kirk and Cindy Iverson know Los Cabos from Pedregal to the East Cape. Find them at cabolifestylehomes.com.

Tuesday is sunny, with a high of ninety-one and a low of seventy-five. Light southeast wind around eight miles an hour, no rain expected, and the water is a toasty eighty-nine degrees.

Wednesday, sunny with a high of ninety. Thursday, partly cloudy, and ninety again.

Even a sea lion goes looking for shade this week.

Peso Check, as of today: one U.S. dollar buys about eighteen and a half pesos, and one Canadian dollar about thirteen point one. Canadians, your dollar goes a little further than last week.

Heads up, cash exchange houses and shops in town usually give a bit less than that rate, so check before you swap.

Okay surfers, let's check the water.

NOAA's wave model has about five and a half feet of south-southwest swell offshore tomorrow morning, and it's dropping.

Spot Check: Pacific side by Cerritos, five and a half feet at fourteen seconds. Corridor, Zippers and Old Man's, five point three. East Cape, four point seven. The Pacific side shows the most.

Those are offshore model numbers, not what's breaking at the beach, so check your spot before you paddle out.

Fishing: the water is eighty-nine degrees, and tomorrow night brings a first quarter moon, six days to full. With light wind and moderate swell, the morning looks fairly calm.

And fishing news! According to Bisbee's, Team Tiki Perro Pescador took Top Tournament Team at the Los Cabos Offshore with a three hundred fifty pound blue marlin.

This week out of the Cabo San Lucas marina, Bisbee's Black and Blue is on through Saturday, with the weigh-in at the marina scales every evening. And Día de Muertos on Playa El Médano starts in twelve days.

Big fish, big week. ¡Órale!

Sancho's, on the Cabo San Lucas marina between K and L Dock, turns ten! The party is this Thursday, nine AM to eleven PM, with The Jacks at noon, Mike Grabow at four and Victoria Stones at seven.

Anniversary swag drops this Wednesday at their Bisbee's Shotgun Start after party, with the bar open at eight AM. You've been officially warned. Find them at sanchoscabo on Facebook and Instagram.

Now it's your turn, amigos.
